  • Large Skillet
  • Tongs
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley for garnish
  • 8 ounces cooked pasta optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the white wine and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer and let the sauce reduce by half, about 3-5 minutes.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm. Pair with cooked pasta or crusty bread if desired.

Notes

This shrimp scampi recipe is versatile and can be customized with your favorite herbs or served over rice. For an alcohol-free version, substitute white wine with chicken or vegetable broth.
