Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rice cooker or pot
  • Plastic wrap
  • Spoon

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice slightly cooled
  • 1 cup cooked salmon flaked
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • 6 sheets nori (seaweed) cut into strips

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon with soy sauce, sesame oil, and sesame seeds (if using). Mix well to coat the salmon evenly.
  • Divide the cooked sushi rice into 6 equal portions. Place one portion of rice on a piece of plastic wrap.
  • Flatten the rice slightly and add a spoonful of the seasoned salmon in the center. Fold the rice over the salmon, using the plastic wrap to shape it into a ball or triangle.
  • Wrap a strip of nori around the rice ball for added flavor and to help hold its shape.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining rice and salmon. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
