  • 1 cup sushi rice cooked and seasoned
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
  • 8 pieces shrimp cooked and deveined
  • 1 medium avocado sliced
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise optional
  • to taste soy sauce for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down. Spread a thin, even layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
  • Arrange shrimp and avocado slices horizontally across the center of the rice. Add a drizzle of mayonnaise if desired.
  • Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the nori tightly around the filling, applying gentle pressure to shape the roll.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 6-8 pieces. Clean the knife between cuts for neat slices.
  • Serve the sushi rolls with soy sauce for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and ensure the sushi rice is properly seasoned with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Practice rolling for even and tight sushi rolls.
