For the Shrimp

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled, deveined, tail-on
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups water

For the Cocktail Sauce

  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to cool completely. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using) to make the cocktail sauce. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Arrange the shrimp on a serving platter, optionally garnished with lemon wedges and fresh parsley. Serve with the chilled cocktail sauce on the side.

Notes

This Shrimp Cocktail Platter is a crowd-pleaser. Make it ahead by cooking the shrimp and preparing the sauce up to one day in advance. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
