1-2tablespoonshoney or maple syrupto adjust sweetness
1/4teaspooncayenne pepperfor added heat
Instructions
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the diced bell pepper and cranberries. Add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the spices to become aromatic.
Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and chicken broth. Stir in the black beans.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld and the chili thickens.
Taste the chili and adjust seasoning as needed. If desired, add honey or maple syrup for sweetness or cayenne pepper for extra heat.
Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings, and enjoy with cornbread, rice, or tortilla chips.
