  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, red wine, minced garlic, honey, black pepper, smoked paprika, and salt to create the marinade.
  • Place the tri-tip steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the tri-tip from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Grill the tri-tip for 6-8 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, 140°F (60°C) for medium.
  • Remove the tri-tip from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  • Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
